Suraya has been practicing yoga and other mind-body practices for  8 years, and had trained previously as a long distance runner, triathlete, and competitive rower.  Certified as a Group Fitness Instructor with the American Council on Exercise since 1996, Suraya has taught a variety of adult fitness classes including water aerobics, body sculpting, core conditioning and water yoga. As her own life has moved more towards mind-body approaches to health and wellness,  Suraya has shifted her teaching in this direction as well, and she currently teaches classes in yoga, pilates and body scupting.

 Interested in deepening her yoga practice and her skills as a yoga instructor, Suraya spent several months in India in 2003, where she  completed the International Yoga Teachers’ Training Program at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Kerala, India.  For Suraya, yoga is not just an approach towards wellness but a spiritual practice and a way of life.

Suraya offers private, group and corporate classes in yoga, pilates, yogalates (a combination of yoga and pilates) and other mind-body approaches to fitness.
